7th Grade Edge: Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 PM
What is the Edge Program? Edge is a Catholic middle school youth ministry program. It provides a safe fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. Edge resources speak to the physical, psychological, cognitive, relational, and spiritual maturation of middle school youth. Edge resources make it easier for youth ministers to plan out their semesters of Edge Night, and to train a team of adults, the Core Team, to assist them in the ministry. The resources present Catholic teaching in a way that young people can understand.
Brief Description: Father Matthew Norwood will run the 7th Grade Edge program on Thursdays from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM and Tahni Morell will run the 8th grade Dynamic Catholic program from 4 PM-5:15 PM on Sundays. Middle school students are invited to come to the Life Teen Mass at 5:30 PM. If interested in registering, please follow the link below. Father Matt Norwood
7th Grade Edge Coordinator
My name is Fr. Matt Norwood, and I have been assigned as the Parochial Vicar at Resurrection
and St. Paul’s since August 2020. I was ordained a priest of Jesus Christ on August 1, 2020 and I
am really happy to be in Hingham for my first assignment. I grew up in Wellesley, MA, attending public schools there through high school. I have an older sister who currently lives in Los Angeles, and my parents are still residing in my childhood home in Wellesley. After high school, I attended George Washington University in Washington, DC for a year before I entered college seminary. I transferred to the Catholic University of America, where I studied from 2013-2016 while I was in formation for the priesthood. In 2016, I returned home to Boston and continued my studies at Saint John’s Seminary in Brighton. As a transitional deacon, I served at St. Columbkille Parish in Brighton from 2019-2020.
The Lord has clearly put His seal on Seaside LifeTeen, and I am so excited to be a part of it. I
really look forward to getting to know many of you. Please do not hesitate to reach out if I can
be of help to you in any way – we are following Jesus and serving Him together. I am praying
daily for fruit to continue to be borne in Hingham that will lead many souls to encounter Jesus
Christ and give themselves completely to Him.
